PHYSICIAN’S INSTITUTE ON CALL AT ÂME

“Wellness is about fitness, nutrition, beauty — and even plastic surgery,” says James Stern, M.D., F.A.C.S., of the Physician’s Institute of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery.  “It’s about feeling better on the inside and the outside.  What we are doing with the âme Spa & Wellness Collective at Turnberry Isle Miami is quite unique.”

Unique indeed, Dr. Stern and his two partners from the Physician’s Institute of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery – Dr. Jonathan R. Weiser and Dr. J. Craig Uecker – are essentially “on call” at the âme Spa to see patients on weekdays and weekends. The physicians are a part of the new “collective” that brings various experts in wellness into the âme Spa.  “It’s very exciting for us to be a part of this multidisciplinary collaboration,” says Stern.  “Experts are coming together to provide clients with all the components of wellness and the Physician’s Institute is proud to play a role in it.”

At âme, the Physician’s Institute is seeing both locals and guests of the renowned resort travelling for wellness. To meet their needs, Stern and his partners are providing a new level of convenience, consultation, and service that is integrated into the spa experience.  The collaboration here allows spa goers to consider the full scope of spa treatments, nutrition, and fitness plans, along with non-invasive and invasive procedures they might want to support their overall wellness and beauty goals.

The Physician’s Institute provides onsite consultations at âme for invasive procedures that take place offsite and at the spa itself they offer an array of non-invasive treatments.  For spring, Dr. Stern says some of the most popular touch up procedures are the micro pigmentation procedures, also known as “permanent makeup.” Eyebrow coloring is by far the most sought-after treatment, followed by eye liner and lip liner.

Also in demand in the spring are eyelash extensions and facial rejuvenation procedures. Facial fillers and Botox offer quick results for erasing wrinkles and restoring facial volume, while the popular Kybella procedure erases “double chins” but takes a few weeks to see the full effects. Either way, Stern always recommends a follow-up appointment with his patients. “I always like to see the results and to make sure my patients are happy and feeling healthy and beautiful.”
